The gourds used for most of these pieces are "bottle gourds." The little "Humpties" are made from small ornamental gourds and are placed on wooden bases. It is a good idea to think of these hard shelled dried gourds as having the same qualities as wood--as they are as durable, strong, and long-lasting. Please remember that each piece is created by hand and individually! They truly "get born" with their own personalities and attitudes!! No two are alike--tho' we can repeat the themes!
